Department of Education's objectives

To deliver educational excellence to over 3,200 students in the redevelopment at the Public School and High School to address significant enrolment growth.

Johnstaff’s role

Johnstaff have been engaged by SINSW, Department of Education to provide the final business case and full project management services for one of SINSW’s largest projects ($250m).  The high priority project involves upgrades and expansion to Chatswood Public School and Chatswood High School to deliver:

  • more than 150 new and refurbished innovative learning and teaching spaces
  • increased quality active play space to students of both schools 
  • specialist teaching facilities such as science, art, and music rooms
  • dedicated performing arts spaces
  • new sports facilities and recreational areas



Addressing the issues

Johnstaff continue to manage a complex and high priority project to address the Departments brief requirements:

  • submission of the final business case
  • managing complex community and key stakeholder groups
  • achieve maximum value within project budget
  • managing project programme to meet key milestone dates
  • relocation of Intensive English Centre (IEC) to St Ives High School

  • Utilising Johnstaff’s in-house advisory team capacity to offer advisory and business case services concurrent to project management services
